Nails - Mani’s & Pedi’s

We do offer traditional nail polish manicures, however, gel polish is the most requested type of manicure. Gel is more durable and more flexible than acrylic products, so it will keep your nails healthier overall. Gel is longer lasting than a traditional polish and since it’s cured with a UV light, there is also no significant drying time involved.

What is a full set? How long does it take?

A full set is a gel manicure that includes cleaning and shaping of the natural nail, gel polish, nail art (if requested) and an extension with the use of a form and builder gel or a pre-made nail tip. A full set takes 60-90 minutes but depending on the intricacy of the design, you can expect to sit for up to 2 hours.

What is a fill?

A fill is booked when your gel extensions have grown out and there is an obvious gap between the cuticle and the start of the gel polish. A gap will start to become apparent around the 2-3 week mark, so fills should be booked every 3 or so weeks. You can continue getting fills indefinately to maintain your manicure, and will not need a new set unless the majority of your pre made tips lift off, or you have your gel extensions removed.

If you’ve booked yourself in for a fill, but arrive requiring a new set, be aware you that you may need to come back at a later time to complete your manicure. For your convenience, please select the appropriate service when you initially book. If you’re unsure if you require a fill or a new set, please contact your nail technician here with a photo of your nails.

What is a Shellac?

Shellac is just a brand name for a gel polish. Since Shellac (CND) was the first to create a mainstream gel polish, it has become the most common term used when referring to gel manicures. We use both CND Shellac and En Vogue Lac It! brands of gel polish and have hundreds of colours at the shop to choose from!

How long does a gel manicure take?

A gel manicure (without extensions) takes 45-60 minutes, depending on the length of your nails and any added nail art. This service also includes cleaning and shaping of the natural nails, and often removal of the extended cuticle area,

What are the benefits of nail extensions?

Extensions lengthen the nail plate creating the illusion of slimmer fingers and more delicate hands. If you have short and wide fingers or nails, you may like the more stream-lined effect extensions create. The length of extensions vary, so make your technician aware of your lifestyle and they will advise you.

I’m getting married, when do I book?

We recommend booking in your nail appointment 2 days before your wedding day. The day before tends to be super chaotic, and on the rare occasion you need a nail fix this will leave you with an extra day to come in.

Can I book in a large group or bridal party?

Yes we LOVE having bridal parties visit! Just be sure to book well in advance to make sure we have enough nail technicians available to accommodate you. Contact us here to inquire about large group bookings.

I bite my nails, are extensions a good option for me?

Yes! Extensions strengthen brittle and weak nails and prevent nail biters from accessing the hyponychium (the thick skin under the nail tip), allowing it to heal. Extensions require that you have some nail length available, so please contact your artist directly with a photo of your nails if you think they may be too short.
